Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has gone on medical vacation, departing Nigeria for London.

President Muhammadu Buhari has left Nigeria and is on his way to London for a medical vacation.

He left on Tuesday afternoon in one of the jets in the presidential fleet through the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

The President is expected to see a doctor during his stay in the UK and he is due to be back in the country during the second week of April, 2021, according to presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

Buhari is embarking on the medical trip at a time members of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors have declared their intention to commence a strike on April 1.

The President’s trip also comes a time when the country is bedeviled with many security challenges including insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, amongst others.
