The interviewer made it clear that Habu is a government official, his designation was, however, not mentioned in the video clip.
A man said to be a relative of a former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahir Bafarawa has confessed that he supplied uniforms and boots to bandits.
An exclusive report by neptuneprime identified the man as the senior staff of the Ministry of Health, Sokoto and half-brother of the former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Dalhatu Attahiru Bafarawa.
The suspect whose name is simply mentioned as Habu, confessed to the crime in the presence of the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, and other government officials.
It was revealed in the barely three minutes video (in which the conversation was in Hausa language), the suspect confessed that he buys the military uniforms and boots from a supplier in Kaduna State.
It was noted that the suspect has been under watch for over a year by security operatives and concerned bodies until he was caught red-handed.
According to the video, Habu was set up by the operatives who connived with someone to place an order for the said materials from the suspect.
The interviewer could be heard telling Habu to confess his crimes before the governor for ‘leniency’.
“Tell us the whole truth now, the Governor wants peace with everyone,” the interviewer said to the suspect.
