Panic As Gunmen Abduct Couple On Their Farm In Osun

Some gunmen have kidnapped a couple London and Blessing Omoru on their farm in a village in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State, The Nation reports.

The Nation gathered that the couple was on their farm at Ori-Omipupa village via Agric Area when gunmen invaded the area, shooting sporadically around 9:50 pm.

A villager told The Nation: “The gunmen entered the farm settlement and were shooting, in the process they kidnapped to persons.

“The cultural security guards named Kiriji Heritage Defender got the information about the kidnapping, their leader named Ademola Ekundayo with his boys trailed those guys but they could not get them because the kidnappers had sophisticated weapons than them.

“We later informed the police but they are yet to rescue the couple that was abducted. The Kiriji guys are in the bush with the police.”

Osun police spokesperson SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

She said around 10:45pm, one Moses Imomiuku of Ayetoro Street reported at Esa Oke Division that around 10 pm he received a distress call from one Andrew Omoru that his parents were kidnapped at farm settlement.

“When our men got the report the Divisional Police Officer led operatives to the scene with the combined effort of Vigilante and men of Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) to rescue the victims.

“We recovered the motorcycle of the victims and our men are combing the areas to rescue the victims.”
