A fake medical doctor, Adesina Opeyemi, 43, who has been practising for 3-years as a gynaecologist and consultant has been nabbed.

 

The man who resides at 1, Alowolodu Street, Alapere area of Ketu, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria was arrested by the police at Alakara for impersonation and forgery.

 

Information gathered revealed that his arrest followed a petition received by the management of Lagos University Teaching Hospital LUTH, Idi Araba, who invited the police to investigate the matter. 

 

At the conclusion of investigations, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Alakara Mr. Emmanuel Adebisi, a Chief Superintendent of Police effected the arrest of the fake doctor.

 

Explaining further, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Dolapo Badmus, a Superintendent of Police revealed that during investigation seven forged certificates were recovered from Opeyemi who hails from Ekiti State and he confessed that he has been practicing as a medical doctor, specifically as a consultant and gynaecologist for the past three years before his arrest.

 

Badmus said the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded
