The explosion rocked an operational vehicle of the Niger State Command of NSCDC during a routine patrol in the early hours of Monday morning.
More details have emerged following the death of four personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Recall that the personnel were killed in an explosion that occurred in Galadiman Kogo axis in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State have been revealed.
The explosion rocked an operational vehicle of the Niger State Command of NSCDC during a routine patrol in the early hours of Monday morning.
The identity of the victims have now been made public.
It was gathered that the NSCDC vehicle stepped on the explosives planted by bandit terrorists in the area and exploded.
According to Security Analyst, Zagazola Makama, an NSCDC commander, Mohammed Ibrahim and three others lost their lives instantly, while the driver of the vehicle sustained very serious injuries.
The dead personnel were identified as ASC I Mohammed Ibrahim, ASC II Cheche Ahmed, IC Yunusa Mahmam and CAI Bala Abdullahi.
While the driver, who is identified as Inspector Bala Adamu, is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.
Confirming the incident, the Niger State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Umar Emmanuel, said; “We lost four of our security personnel who were in our security vehicle that ran on the bomb.”
“I and other security agencies are yet to get to the point where the explosion took place because we are waiting for the bomb experts to inform us of the safety of the areas before we can go there.”
