Taylor Swift Donates $15,000 to Volunteer Firefighter Who Saved His Own Family Involved In Crash

Award winning American singer-songwriter and actress, Taylor Swift, has donated $15,000 to the family of a fire fighter, who responded to a 911 call only to get to the scene to find out the victims of the head-on collision were his wife and son.

Here's what happened:

A Texas volunteer fire fighter named Aaron Van Riper, on Saturday, responded to a 911 call regarding a car crash when he made a heartbreaking discovery: The victims in the accident were his own wife, Amber, and his son. While the boy, 7-year-old Jonathan, has been released from the hospital, Van Riper's wife, Amber, remains there.

The incident gained national attention when a friend of the family set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for treatment costs and other sundry expenses, which was put in the region of $125,000. The family didn't have medical insurance.

However, the story changed on Wednesday night, when a donation for $15,000 was left for the family on the GoFundMe page, which was signed "Taylor Swift".

Billboard has confirmed the singer actually made the donation.

So far, 2,368 people have contributed $103,613 in 4 days to the GoFundMe account.
