At the initial inception of the Pyrates confraternity, it was about as innocent as the creation of Boy Scouts or any fraternity in any American or European society.
The composition of any group, be it a confraternity, a class, or classes of professionals e.g. bankers, lawyers, architects, soccer team, even a government, have elements of various characters comprising the gamut of human attributes.
The good, the bad and the ugly.
Many of these individuals distinguished themselves in various walks of life and contributed positively to society. Many, however also have gone the other way. Some were ejected, and went on to form their own versions.
Sadly the subsequent negative actions of many others in the following years, encompassing a selfish and self-serving aggrandizement for narcissistic motives, has tarnished what legacy they built.
