Fire Destroys Properties of Over 20 Students of The female Hostel in The University of Uyo

The female hostel of the University of Uyo on Saturday, June 13, suffered a fire incident which destroyed the property of about 20 students.
The university’s Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Essien, confirmed the incident, but said that the inferno was put off by men of the State Fire Service.
“Yes there was a minor fire outbreak in one of the female hostels in the town campus of the university, but it was brought under control by men of the State Fire Service.
“The fire affected just two of the rooms in the hostel while no life was lost.
“The university authority is currently carrying out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire,” Essien said.
The incident was caused by an electrical fault when one of the female students was cooking.
