2023 Elections: Pregnant Woman Slumps And Dies While Waiting On Queue To Vote In Zamfara

A pregnant woman, Shamsiya Ibrahim, reportedly collapsed and died while waiting in the queue to cast her vote at one of the polling units in the Tsafe area of Zamfara state on Saturday, February 25.

Late Shamsiya travelled from Kotorkoshi area of Bungudu Local Government to Tsafe town, a distance of about 50 kilometers to cast her vote.

Sadly, she slumped while waiting to cast her vote. She was rushed to Tsafe General Hospital where she was confirmed dead upon arrival.

The authorities are yet to make a formal statement regarding the tragic development.
