A 28-year-old man, Azeez Olaoye, has been arraigned by the Police, before an Ota Magistrates Court in Ogun, on Wednesday, for allegedly conducting himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.
The Police charged Olaoye, whose address was not provided, with breach of peace, threat to life and malicious damage.
The Prosecutor, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 2 at about 6.30 p.m. at Ilogno area, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by chasing the complainant, Muideen Azeez, with a stone.
He added that Olaoye threatened the complainant by saying he would kill him.
The prosecutor said that the defendant also damaged three sliding windows valued at N70,000.
Adaraloye said that the offences contravened Sections 86,249(d) and 451 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.O.Adeyemi, admitted the defendant to N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Adeyemi ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.
She adjourned the case until June 22 for further hearing.
