Recruitment: NDLEA Reacts As Applicants Lament Difficulty In Accessing Portal For Online Tests

Posted by Thandiubani on Thu 11th May, 2023 - tori.ng

The portal has been relatively inaccessible to many applicants who were scheduled for the exercise between Monday and Thursday.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has revealed why candidates are finding it difficult to access the portal for the 2023 recruitment exercise.

Many are lamenting difficulty in accessing the agency’s portal for the Computer Based Test.

Media Director of the agency, Femi Babafemi, had in a statement said the applicants, particularly those in superintendent cadre (Professional and General Duties), would commence their online test on Monday, May 8.

However, the portal has been relatively inaccessible to many applicants who were scheduled for the exercise between Monday and Thursday.

One of the applicants, Ajeh Eneoche Jennifer, who spoke with our correspondent on Thursday, said she was scheduled to take the CBT on Wednesday but could not access the portal.

She said, “I was part of the batch scheduled to take the test on Wednesday, according to the mail we received, our batch was to write the test between 10am on Wednesday to 6am Thursday.

“But all efforts to access the portal proved abortive. Thousands of us could not participate in the exercise despite being awake all night.

“I and several of other applicants have been on this for the last 24 hours all to no avail”.

Similarly, some of the frustrated applicants on Thursday morning took to their Twitter handles to lambast the agency for the poor network on the server.

Here are some of the tweets:

@dairoadeyinka1: “Despite staying outside all night outside with @MTNNG router that has full bar network, I was still unable to access @ndlea_nigeria online cbt, chai! Chai!! Everything don tire me for this country.”

@desmondlawson90: “This is highly regrettable and inhuman that such an admirable agency like the NDLEA would setup a poor server host to coordinate their exams. I was scheduled for Wednesday 10th May and from 10am till 5:51am 11th May I have not had access to the portal to write the test.”

@AshiatAdeagbo: “Every 15mins-30mins Since 10:00 the starting time for this test i tried login but i kept seeing this. Please help us out I don’t want to give up just lik that.”

Reacting, Femi Babafemi in a series of tweet on Thursday morning, said the difficulty was due to heavy traffic on the server.

He, however, assured applicants that the agency is actively finding ways to ease the exercise.

He wrote, “The online assessment platform will remain open today Thursday, 11th May, till 6:00 am tomorrow Friday 12th May, to allow applicants in all batches who received an email but were unable to take the test due to technical difficulties to do so.

“Applicants should kindly refresh their browsers if they encounter time out errors, as a result of the heavy traffic on the server, which it is actively filtering”.
