Two Perish As Explosion Rocks Keffi

An explosive suspected to be a bomb went off in Keffi Metropolis, the headquarters of Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Sunday, May 28, leaving two persons dead.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, opposite General Hospital along Nasarawa Road, Keffi. Daily Trust reported that residents of Keffi town trooped out in their thousands to catch a glimpse of the scene of the two-bedroom residential apartment, which was affected by the explosion.

Two male occupants of the rented apartment in the area were killed in the explosion. It was also alleged that the victims who are reportedly on DSS wanted list, returned to Keffi from their journey on Saturday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses told the publication that the victims noticed that the DSS operatives had surrounded their house, hence, they had no option rather than to blow off themselves with an explosive. Security operatives were at the scene of the incident to evacuate the dead bodies.
