The family of High Chief Anthony Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications has announced his burial date.
The media mogul will be buried at his residence in Edo State on June 22.
Plans revealed on Wednesday also show that the funeral would commence with a “day of tributes” on June 19 at The Ballroom International Conference Centre in Abuja.
A requiem mass will hold on June 20 at The Church of Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja.
On June 21, a service of songs will be held at the deceased’s residence in Edo State.
Another requiem mass will be held on June 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Agenebode, Edo State.
A reception will be held for guests after the interment on June 22 at St Peter’s Grammar School compound in Agenebode, Edo State.
Dokpesi, chairman of DAAR Communications which owns Africa Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower FM, died on May 29 at the age of 71, weeks after reportedly suffering a stroke.
A statement by DAAR’s group managing director Tony Akiotu hours after the death stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain fell while on his treadmill.
“He had been ill in the last few weeks but was well on his way to recovery. He had a fall earlier today, while on the treadmill during a routine gym exercise,” the statement said.
Dokpesi’s son Raymond Dokpesi Jnr had earlier described the deceased as “a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend” who “will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
