Frank Mba and Bala Ciroma have been decorated as deputy inspectors-general of police (DIG) by Kayode Egbetokun, the acting inspector-general of police (IGP), on Thursday.
Egbetokun was joined by Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo.
The event took place at the force headquarters in Abuja.
Mba will serve as the DIG for the south-east geopolitical zone, while Croma represents the north-east in the police management team.
The police service commission (PSC) approved the appointments of Mba and Ciroma last week.
TheCable reported that Mba’s promotion arrives three months after he was promoted to the rank of assistant inspector-general of police (AIG).
The PSC had said Mba was promoted because he is the most senior police officer from the south-east zone of the country.
