The former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said that President Bola Tinubu would have zero regrets nominating him to serve as a minister in his cabinet.
He vowed to give the president the required support in tackling the problems facing the nation.
Wike, the only chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the ministerial list sent by the President to the Senate last Thursday, stated this during his screening in the Senate chamber today, July 31.
Wike told the Senators that during his time as governor of the oil-rich Niger Delta state from May 2015 to May 2023, he started and completed many projects to improve the infrastructure of the state and that he invited politicians across party lines to commission them.
‘’I thank Mr President for nominating me. I believe knowing how hungry Mr President is to solving the problems of Nigeria, we have no choice to give him that required support and I can assure you that if I am confirmed, he will never in whatever capacity regret nominating me''.
He was then asked to take a bow and go.
