Newly Married Man Shot Dead While Returning Home With His New Bride In Niger

In what will come across as a really tragic development, a new groom has ben killed in Niger State.

Tragedy struck on Monday evening when terrorists shot dead the newlywed groom, Yahaya Masinja, in Shiroro local government area when he was returning home with his bride.

The incident occurred at around 6 pm when Masinja and his bride were returning to Allawa along the Allawa-Pandogari Road.

The couple sighted the terrorists and abandoned their vehicles laden with food supplies to seek refuge in the nearby forest.

The terrorists took over the truck and drove away the food supplies when Masinja thought it was another group of travellers and came out of the forest to seek help.

It was learnt the terrorists shot him to death and left with some of the foodstuff while setting the truck ablaze. 

The President of Lakpma Youth Assembly, Jibrin Allawa, confirmed the incident lamenting the death of Masinja who was a dedicated staff member of the Government Secondary School (GSS) in Allawa in the Shiroro local government area.

He said that Masinja’s death was among many experienced daily in the region calling on the government to step up its fight against the terrorists in the State.
