Ex-Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), were part of the dignitaries at the funeral ceremony of Mrs. Genevieve Duke.
TORI reports that Mrs Duke, who was the mother of the former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, was laid to rest on Wednesday at Iju Hills, Ogun State.
Other dignataries at the event include NNPP chieftain, Buba Galadima, past and current governors, and serving lawmakers, among others.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State, condoled with the Duke family over the death of their matriarch.
He wrote: “Today, I joined my brother, H.E Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, in laying to rest his beloved mother, Mrs. Genevieve Duke, at Iju Hills, Ogun State.
“May God grant the Duke family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
