Senate President, Bukola Saraki In Consultation With Obasanjo

In company of former Osun Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senators Ben Bruce, Andy Uba, Ahmed Yerima, Tayo Alasoadura and Danjuma Goje, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is currently in a closed door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

 

It is not clear why Saraki who became Senate president in controversial circumstances and his entourage are visiting the former President, but It was learnt that there were attempts by the National Working Committee of the APC to diminish the power of the Senate President and the Speaker in the appointment of principal officers of the legislature.

 

Close sources close to Saraki say the visit is essentially to “pay homage to former President Obasanjo and appeal to him to reach out to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress and President Buhari to accept the new leadership of the Senate whole heartedly”.
