Hisbah Police Arrest Musician In Kano For 'Inaccurately Reciting Verse In The Quran'

Authorities from the Hisbah Command in Kano apprehended Abubakar Ibrahim, popularly known as G-Fresh Al’ameen, a TikTok influencer and musician, for incorrectly reciting Al-Fatiha, the Quran's opening chapter.

Ibrahim had been alleged to have made the recitation during the last Sallah celebration on April 11.

According to reports, Aliyu Usman, an official overseeing the board’s surveillance unit, said Ibrahim also known as G-Fresh had been hiding for long before he was arrested at his residence in the Badawa locality of the state.

Usman also disclosed that G-Fresh was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Usman said, “He has been hiding for long, and we have been extending invitations to him. I have called him on the phone several times, telling him to come for counselling based on the instructions of the Commandant General, but he refused.

“We have no option but to go after him and arrest him. He is now in our custody after we got him in his room and is undergoing an investigation.”
