The College of Health Sciences and Technology Tsafe graduate was murdered when bandits attacked his village.

 Bilyaminu Tukur Masgo

A man identified as Bilyaminu Tukur Masgo, has been killed by bandits in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

An anti-corruption activist from Zamfara State, Mamman Bashir Kanoma, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Sunday, July 21, 2024, said the College of Health Sciences and Technology Tsafe graduate was murdered when bandits attacked his village.

According to his Facebook posts, the deceased had been vocal about incessant bandit attacks in Zamfara.

Mamman lamented the laid-back attitude of Nigerian leaders in combating the menace of banditry plaguing the country.

“Last week I stopped at Lambar Bakura to observe my Zuhr prayer while coming back to Sokoto from Zamfara. As I'm about to start ablution, this young man approached and greet me with full of pleasure from his face,” he wrote.

''He asked me "Sir are you Mamman Bashar Kanoma?" I replied 'Yes'. He then introduce himself telling me that he sent me friend request on Facebook, for over two years I didn't respond.

I apologised and promised to accept his request whenever I have time to remove inactive from my friend collections. Today I woke up and meet the very sad news on social media that this promising young man was murdered in cold blood by the dreaded bandits in his village last night.

I felt heartbroken, disgusted and emotionally drained, not because I didn't accept his request as I promised.

I wept when I remembered that he was killed innocently, and his killers like everyday, will get away with it as our leaders continued to treat them with kids gloves.

Allah Ya bi muna hakkin jinin al'ummar mu ga duk wanda ya rataya akan shi.''
