Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube, a Nigerian couple, has been crowned the winners of Season 11 of Love Island UK.
The duo, who defeated Welsh couple Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies in the finale, made history as the first black couple to win the popular dating show.
Their victory was announced by host Maya Jama on Monday, with the couple receiving the highest percentage of the public vote.
Oyinsan, a 29-year-old footballer and model, and Ngulube, a 24-year-old mental health nurse and actress, took home a cash prize of £50,000.
In a post-win interview, Oyinsan expressed excitement about building a life with Ngulube outside of the show.
“I’m looking forward to spending more time with Mimii, meeting her family and friends, and exploring the world together,” he said.
Their victory has been met with widespread celebration on social media, with fans praising the show for its increased diversity and inclusivity.
