A man has been arrested for allegedly harvesting iron rods from the FESTAC link bridge in Lagos.
On Tuesday, August 6, a video showing the damaged parts of the bridge surfaced online.
A man who recorded and shared the video stated that some criminals break some sections of the bridge and then harvest the iron rods used to construct it.
In an update given on Wednesday evening, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Wahab Tokunbo, said a suspect has been arrested in connection with the crime and has been handed over to the police.
The suspect who claimed to be an indigene of Kwara state, said he saw the iron rods and had intended to sell them.
