Imo Commissioner of Police, said he mobilized men and officers of the Command at strategic areas within the Secretariat to ward off any attack.
The Commissioner of Police Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma has deployed men and officers of the Command at strategic areas within the State Secretariat.
This comes amidst alleged threat by the Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB, to attack the Imo State Secretariat.
A press statement issued by the command spokesperson, Henry Okoye informed that the Police commissioner took the action after paying a visit to both the Federal and State Secretariats in the State to reassure civil servants of their maximum safety amidst recent threats from IPOB.
“During the visit, CP Danjuma engaged with the civil servants, underscoring the Command’s readiness and commitment to their protection. He detailed the mobilization of well-equipped operatives and assured the implementation of enhanced security strategies to ensure a safe working environment in the secretariat and other areas in the State.”
According to the release, the State Head of Service, Raymond Ucheoma while responding to the CP’s visit commended him for his proactive approach in addressing the IPOB threat noting that the deployment of water-tight security at the Secretariats provided workers with the confidence needed to carry out their duties effectively.
