The Divisional Police Officer of Owode Egba has commenced a thorough probe into the death of a 26-year-old man on September 12 at about 4pm.
A statement from the command's spokesperson, SP Omolola, says the command began the investigation after one Ifakunle Olanrewaju, a 28-year-old Traditional attendant who specializes in administering herbal concoctions from Asa Elegbada Village near Owode Egba, visited the police to report the death of one of his customers, Monday Ederemo.
The suspect reportedly said that on September 11, the late Ederemo who used to patronise his herbal concoction visited him from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, complaining of discomforting pain in his right leg and in Olanrewaju's habitual manner, he provided the deceased with some herbal mixtures.
The suspect told the police that sadly, on September 12, at about 7, Ederemo was found dead in his home.
The police spokesperson said the command has commenced investigations into the incident, and the suspect is undergoing questioning at the police station even though the family of the deceased is not pressing any charges presently.
She mentioned that the crime scene was visited and examined and photographs were taken, adding that the remains of the deceased have been transferred to the mortuary at General Hospital, Owode Egba, for an autopsy.
She further stated that a preliminary investigation is ongoing to determine if there was any suspicious cause other than what was reported.
