Ogun State Police Parades Over 22 Suspects For Robbery, Kidnappings And Murder

 

A total of 22 suspects were on Thursday paraded by the Ogun State Police Command for various crimes, including alleged murder, cultism, kidnapping and armed robbery across the state within the last one month.

 

The state Commissioner of Police, Valentine Ntomchukwu, while parading the suspects, revealed that 15 persons, who were believed to be members of notorious Aiye confraternity, were arrested for killing one Gbenga Kofowora.

 

Ntomchukwu also paraded three suspected kidnappers, who allegedly kidnapped a 97-year-old man, Amos Samaye, along Ijebu-Ode/Benin expressway.

 

The Commissioner of Police also paraded four suspected armed robbers, who dispossessed one Ngozi Oyelade of her Toyota Highlander SUV with her personal valuables, in Sagamu.

 

While explaining how the 15 suspected cultists were arrested for killing Kofowora, Ntomchukwu said the alleged victim was a member of Eiye confraternity, a rival group.

 

He said the cultists invaded Pepsi Junction, New Garage, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, and killed Gbenga Kofowora.

 

The suspects were said to have been caught with two locally-made guns, one sword, assorted charms and other paraphernalia.

 

On the kidnapping, the police boss said the suspects were arrested with one Beretta pistol, one locally-made single-barrelled pistol, two live cartridges and assorted charms.
