She was spotted standing on the street on Monday asking to be the target with arrows – she charged 10 yuan (1.5 US dollars) every time she was shot.

 

According to CCTV News, Ji Jianli, had a board in front of her with the details of her bank account and online payment numbers.

 

 

The police were called in and in less than an hour, Ji was taken away.

 

However, Ji Jianli’s bizarre request was not an attention-seeking stunt. It turned out to be an altruistic act for her sister, Ji Jiayan, who suffers from acute leukemia and is in need of money for treatment. 

 

 

The reasons for the sister's desperate bid for money soon came to the attention of netizens, who tried to make transactions to the account shown on the board. The incident was also covered by a local news outlet.

 

CCTV reports that in the past few years, Ji’s poverty-stricken family has been shattered by the illness. Ji’s sister even ran away from her family in order to spare them her medical costs of approximately 500,000 yuan (76,000 US dollars).
