1xCup 2025: Full List of Trophy Contenders Has Been Revealed!

 

Registration for Nigeria's biggest amateur football tournament is now closed - the fun is yet to come.

"You can't imagine our feelings when, on June 22, the last day of registration, we realized that we had received more than 450 applications! A year ago, there were just over 160, and then it seemed like a lot," these words of the 1xCup 2025 organizing committee representative will remain relevant until 1xCup 2026.

 

The selection process for 64 qualifying participants and 4 squads, which will start the competition from the group stage, required a lot of effort and time. Choosing the best was difficult, but it was worth it!

 

You can find the full list of teams on 1xcup.ng in the news section. The official tournament website has already taken up the baton and is starting to cover the football clashes.

 

Four squads automatically qualified for the group stage as the best at 1xCup 2024. These are FC BETHEL Academy, Community Gunners FC, Emaljus FC, and Emiloju FC.

 

Among the teams selected to participate in the qualification, you will find academies, street squads, and regional clubs. 

 

1xCup 2025 is about diversity, providing opportunities to showcase talents, and uniting the football community. 

Some of the young athletes will earn a share of the prize pool and go to Afcon in Morocco in December with Bi Benard!

Liverpool waited 30 years for a new EPL trophy, and Real Madrid went 32 years without winning the Champions League. A reminder of the title droughts of great clubs can be helpful for those who have yet to achieve success.

 

Believe me, it was difficult for the organizers to reject hundreds of applications during the registration process. However, these participants were not bad — some were simply better. Thank you to everyone who showed interest in the tournament!

The 1xCup 2025 play-in round will begin on July 8. 16 out of 64 squads will qualify and enter the group stage. Follow the news on 1xcup.ng and the tournament's social media pages. The match schedule will be announced soon.
