David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has reunited with his primary school classmates, 49 years after they graduated from Umunaga Community School in Uburu, Ebonyi State.
The reunion, which was shared on Facebook by Francis Nwaze on Tuesday, brought together members of the Class of 1976, many of whom had not seen one another since they graduated.
What began as childhood friendship has, nearly five decades later, evolved into a gathering of accomplished men and women, each carrying stories of survival, growth, and life’s unpredictable journeys.
For Umahi, who has risen from those modest beginnings to become an engineer, businessman, governor of Ebonyi State, and now a minister, the moment was a quiet homecoming.
Laughter mixed with old memories, and the passage of time seemed to fold neatly as classmates embraced, reminisced, and celebrated the long path from humble beginnings to fulfilled lives.
More than a reunion, the gathering became a tribute to endurance, shared history, and the bonds forged in childhood.
