Osi Suave, the Nigerian media personality, has expressed his frustration over what he perceives as the gradual decline of the Detty December celebrations.
According to him, what used to be a fun and organic end-of-year culture has now been ruined by greed and over-commercialisation.
Osi revealed that he has organised December concerts since 2018 but chose to sit out this year because costs have tripled while ticket sales are no longer enough to cover expenses.
He pointed out that almost everyone is now trying to cash out from December — from opening lounges and clubs to renting properties at inflated prices — all geared towards detty december profits.
In his words, the overload of businesses and excessive pricing has sucked the joy out of what once worked naturally.
“Congrats to everyone involved,” he added.
