Gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has become the first African artiste to hit one billion views on his online channel.

The channel, Nathaniel Bassey Main, shows 1,014,544,577 views and 5.24 million subscribers since it started in 2011.

Songs like Imela, You Are God and Onise Iyanu helped build that total.

His online worship movement, the Halleluyah Challenge, also played a big part.

The milestone came over the weekend, just after this year's Halleluyah Challenge ended.

The challenge runs every year and was started in 2017.

His fans have been celebrating the news online and congratulating him.
