Police Launch Investigation Into Alleged Kidnap And M8rder Of Corps Member In Adamawa

It was gathered that Dankunama, with state code KT/24C/1218, a native of the Tsobo community from Furtu in Lamurde LGA, was reportedly murdered on Saturday, December 20, 2025, while returning home.

The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the abduction and k!lling of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Beecroft Wenisefrus Dankunama, in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that Dankunama, with state code KT/24C/1218, a native of the Tsobo community from Furtu in Lamurde LGA, was reportedly murdered on Saturday, December 20, 2025, while returning home. 
 
According to Tsobo Youth Development Association (TYDA), Dankunama was deployed to Katsina State for his national service and had briefly returned home to seek medical attention before resuming duty.
 
The group said the deceased was last seen in Lafiya while traveling to Furtu through Lamurde but failed to reach his destination. 
 
Local sources who requested anonymity alleged that he was stopped in Lamurde, identified, taken away, and later k!lled by some youths suspected to be militias. 
 
The spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, December 22, said the Commissioner of Police directed the deployment of rescue officers and crime scene experts to Lamurde for an on-the-spot check and quiet investigation to find out what really happened. 
 
"The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris Psc(+),* has swiftly responded to the alleged online publication of kidnapping and k!lling of a Corps member who was said to have finished his service in Katsina State and was on his way to his village in Lamurde LGA of Adamawa State,”
the statement read. 
 
"The CP, has immediately deployed the rescued operation team and scene of crime experts to Lamurde LGA, for an on the spot assessment and discreet investigation.
 
"The command will take appropriate legal action in handling situations that arise during the course of its investigation. 
 
“The command, while appealing for calm, urged people with useful information that will aid investigation to come forward and present their facts. The Command remains committed to professionalism, accountability, and the protection of citizens’ rights.”
