Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu raided a brothel in Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area, rescuing 33 underage girls.
The raid carried out on January 7, 2026 followed an ongoing investigation involving a case of kidnapping, abduction, missing children and child trafficking.

The building is owned by one Mrs. Ngozi Nnanyelugo, aged 45 years, who is currently at large.
In the video, Divine, one of the missing girls identified by her mother, said she and her cousin attempted to run away several times but were caught and taken to a shrine and forced to take oaths with threats of d3ath and madness.
According to Divine, now 15, the ‘madam’ said she won't release them until they pay the money used to transport them from Ebonyi to Anambra.
She also revealed that they were forced to sleep with men during their period.
Meanwhile, efforts are currently ongoing to arrest the principal suspect, while investigations continue to determine the full extent of the crime and identify other accomplices.
The PPRO added that further developments will be communicated in due course.
