The discussion began when an X (formerly Twitter) user shared an emotional post, revealing that she had been in tears since the start of the year after her landlord raised her annual rent from ₦1.2 million to ₦3.2 million.
Her post quickly gained traction, resonating with many Nigerians facing similar challenges.
Reacting to the viral post, Bizzle Osikoya disclosed that he, too, had experienced a dramatic hike in his rent.
According to him, his rent was increased from ₦8.5 million to a staggering ₦25 million, a revelation that further intensified the debate around rent inflation and the increasing financial pressure on tenants across the country.
