Real Madrid Star Valverde Out for Weeks After Ankle Injury

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain in his left ankle from a tackle in Sunday's 2-1 derby loss to Atletico Madrid.

Atletico's Lee Kang-in made the tackle that injured Valverde.

Real Madrid believes it should have been a red card.

Coach Jose Mourinho arrived at his post-match press conference with printed screenshots of two tackles he thought deserved red cards, including Lee's on Valverde.

Valverde will be out for several weeks.

He'll miss Uruguay's friendlies against Japan, South Korea and India.
