Lagos police have arrested four suspected cultists accused of terrorising residents in Lekki, Ajah and Elemoro.

The arrests were made between October 2 and 9 after police got useful information.

The suspects are Arisekola Ojo, 32, Oluwatobi Oyewole, 29, Oluwaseyi Odunewu, 32, and Olumagba Ifatope, 29.

They are being questioned over conspiracy and belonging to an unlawful group.

Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi shared the update in a statement on Tuesday.

Officers found a locally made cut to size gun at the home of Odunewu.

The suspects have also given statements that police say will help the investigation.

Officers are now looking for other people linked to the crimes and more guns.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai said the command will keep going after cult groups and other criminal networks.

He warned people involved in cultism to stop or face the full weight of the law.

He also asked residents to share credible information with the police to make their communities safer.
