Police in Lagos have arrested two suspected cultists who were terrorising residents of Addo Road in Ajah.

Officers from the Violent Crime Response Unit also recovered a locally made pistol.

The suspects are Idris Rasak, 26, also known as Aloss, and Ibrahim Kazeem, 25, also known as Asunmo Kebe.

Police acted on intelligence about their cult activities in the area.

During questioning, the two reportedly admitted they belong to the Eiye Confraternity.

They then led officers to the Waterside area of Addo, where the gun was found.

Both men are in custody while detectives look into their activities and try to find others linked to them.

The Lagos Police Commissioner, Tijani Fatai, said the command will keep fighting cultism and other violent crime.

He asked residents to share reliable information with the police to help keep the community safe.
