President Bola Tinubu received the proposed 2027 United Nations budget on Monday at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the UN, Jimoh Ibrahim, handed it over.
Ibrahim said this is the first time in 66 years that a Nigerian president has received the budget.
He also said Nigeria will chair the UN General Assembly's Fifth Committee, which handles budget and admin matters.
That is the first time the country has held the chair in that time.
The budget has seven volumes.
Ibrahim said it includes about $3.4bn for the regular budget and about $8.5bn for peacekeeping.
He put the total at about $14bn, or roughly N36tn to N40tn.
He would not say what Nigeria stands to gain from it.
He said the figures are still being discussed and could change before the final budget is approved.
