See Women Arrested For Prostitution In Ondo State (Photo)

 

Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ondo State command arrested some prostitutes at a popular brothel on Car Street, Akure.

 

They were also reportedly involved in child trafficking as they successfully lured a girl named Faith Ekepemephia, from her home town in Akwa Ibom to Akure, for prostitution.

 
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Kayode Balogun, officials of the agency got wind of the incident after complaints from some church members.

Balogun added that the suspects had been handed over to officials of National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, for further investigation.

The trafficking victim known as Faith claimed she was lured to Akure after someone lied to her she was coming to the South-West region to work as a maid.

She said: “A girl from my village in Akwa Ibom, who resides in Akure, Ondo State, told me that one madam she currently works with needed the service of a house help. “The girl said I would be helping the madam do house chores and will be paid monthly.”

Unfortunately for the young girl, she was confronted with the task of sleeping with men for money shortly after she arrived.

 

She tried to run away which attracted severe threats from the prostitutes. Since her arrival she has made about N6,000 from sleeping with just three men.
