Controversial PDP Chieftain, Fani-Kayode was acquitted on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, after presiding judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, held that the prosecution's case was 'feeble'.
A Federal court in Lagos has cleared former Aviation Minister and PDP chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode of fraud charges leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Fani-Kayode was discharged and acquitted on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, after presiding judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, held that the prosecution’s case was "feeble".
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia also said that the prosecution had failed to provide “copious evidence” linking the former minister to money laundering.
The case against Fani-Kayode began in 2008 when he was accused of laundering about N100 million during his tenure as Minister of Culture and Tourism and also as Minister of Aviation.
