So Touching! High School Sweethearts Die Holding Hands After 58 years of Marriage (Photos)

 

In this touching story of love, two high school sweethearts who had been married for 58 years died as they had lived – together.

 

According to Metro, George and Ora Lee Rodriguez died holding hours, three hours apart, in hospital in San Antonio.

 

The couple were both diagnosed with dementia before their death. George suffered a stroke, and died in his sleep – and Ora Lee passed three hours later. The two died a week after their 58th wedding anniversary and were surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

 

The couple’s daughter Corina Martinez said, ‘I just can’t believe something like this would ever happen, you hear this on the movies … like The Notebook.

 

‘We had them here at the house, in their hospital beds, right beside each other.They were holding hands.’
