24-year old Spanish footballer, David De Gea has invalidated talks of a move to Real Madrid despite being spotted in the Spanish capital.

The Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea said he was back in his home city simply "to rest" after he was seen in Madrid on Thursday afternoon after spending a break in Bali with his girlfriend, Spanish singer Edurne Garcia.

"I'm here to rest," the Spain international told AS. "I'm on holiday. Everything is going well."

De Gea has only one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford but United are widely reported to be holding out for a substantial fee.

Reports in Spain have claimed Real had an €18 million (£12.8m) offer for De Gea rejected, with the Daily Mirror reporting that United wants £35m, and Marca has said United are insisting that any sale should involve Madrid's Sergio Ramos moving in the opposite direction.
