A police boss was forced to take to his heels after his men rough-handled television journalist covering a protest.

A senior police officer working in Nairobi was on Thursday, roughed up by a group of journalists after one of his junior officers attempted to beat up a cameraman who was covering demonstrations at Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park, Nairobi, The Kenyan reports.
However, the police officer was forced to run for his life following requests by the journalists to explain the disrespectful way they were treated.
It all began after some anti-riot officers decided to attack a group of journalists who were only armed with their notebooks and cameras ready to cover the protests organised by civil society groups.
The civil society groups staged the protest against the alleged Sh5 Billion scandal at the Ministry of Health. However, the police officers came and dispersed the protesters with tear gas and roughhandled some of the journalists.
This didn't go down well with the newsmen who demanded explanation from the police boss.
Initially, the unidentified police boss reacted by running away but the press speedily followed him with their cameras in tow.
Not even the choke from the teargas would stop the journalists, but when they finally cornered the officer, he declined to explain his officers’ actions but was seen directing them to stop harassing the journalists.
