Tambuwal Vies For 2015 Presidential Race

 

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has obtained the nomination form for the presidential elections on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). This comes as a big shock to Nigerians as he was believed to have his eyes on the governorship seat of Sokoto state.

 

Tambuwa was approached by the APC lawmakers of the House of Represntatives to aim for the presidential post. It is believed that the Speaker's entry into the presidential race was prompted by Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos state and national leader of the All Progressive Congress. 

 

As a matter of fact, the nomination form was purchased for Aminu Tambuwal by the APC lawmakers of the House of Representatives. This was confirmed by his spokesman Imam Imam in an interview with Premium Times.

 

The other people in the presidential race are former Head of State Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Kano state Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and Leadership Newspaper publisher, Sam Nda-Isiah. Buhari seems to be the greatest competition for Tambuwa, who is well-loved and respected by Nigerians.

 

Inspite the growing respect for Tambuwal, his former party the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is strongly opposed to his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives to because of defection from the party.
