After a lady was left vomiting uncontrollably, a CCTV footage luckily revealed the cause of her illness as the clip showed her colleague poisoning her drink before she started puking.
Sofia Santa Cruz was left vomiting uncontrollably after ingesting what she believes to be a chemical-based beauty product. A woman was allegedly caught on camera as she poured a deadly chemical poison into her co-worker's bottled water - almost killing her.
CCTV cameras at the beauty store where Luz Lemonfield works appear to show her unscrewing the top off her colleague Sofia Santa Cruz's water and pouring in a clear liquid solution.
Ms Lemonfield, 27, is now facing charges of assault, reckless endangerment and attempted poisoning.
Officer said Ms Lemonfield admitted that 'it hadn't worked' as she was handcuffed
Police were called out to the Blue Mercury Spa in the Rio Washingtonian Shopping Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland on October 31.
Victim Sofia Santa Cruz told WJLA News: "I ingested poison. Somebody put something in my drink."
As I took the bottle of water and started drinking, I just felt an entire burn in my throat, all the way down. I felt it and I couldn't breathe."
Ms Santa Cruz says she does not know the motive behind the alleged attack
Sofia then ran to the toilets where she vomited uncontrollably. She later called police who said Ms Lemonfield reportedly told officers on the scene: "Well I guess it didn't work then."
Sofia says she does not know the motive behind Ms Lemonfield's alleged attack but believes she ingested a cocktail of deadly ingredients including sulphur, acid and alcohol.
