Teacher Sacked and Faces Criminal Charges for Pulling Chair From Under Pupil (Photos+Video)

A shocking video has shown the moment a teacher loses his temper and pulled a chair away from a disobedient pupil.

The moment the teacher pulled a chair from under a pupil

The video footage was recorded by a fellow student on his mobile phone and it shows the teacher grabbing the legs of the chair on which a boy was sitting and pulling it backward. The boy then falls to the floor as shocked classmates look on, with some gasping at the tutor's actions.

According to Mirror Online, the pupils had been taking part in an science lesson when the incident occured.

David Pfaff , the 31-year-old teacher has however, apologised for his actions.

He said: "The boy said: 'Mr Pfaff get out of my face' and then he used very very inappropriate language with me, he told me to get out of here using a four letter word."

Being new to teaching, Mr Pfaff, said he got the idea to yank the chair away as he'd seen it used in other schools when he was studying to become a teacher.

He said: "They would move the chair a little bit or a lot and it depended on the individual and the student would stand up and the teacher would escort the now standing student away from the area, but it didn’t happen that way did it? It did not.

"I think teachers already complain on how much training we get but how to handle unruly students in the classroom.

"It’s becoming a problem. At the time, I didn’t think so, but I think that if more people would have been around to support me and help me out that this would have had a totally different outcome."

The 8th grade teacher has since been sacked and was escorted to his car after the incident at Bailey Middle School in West Haven, in Connecticut, USA.

A criminal investigation has been launched, but police have not arrested Mr Pfaff.
