Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has said he will be a cattle keeper if he loses elections next year, after three decades in power.

Museveni made this declaration on Thursday, November 19.

According to the state-owned New Vision newspaper, Museveni said: “If I lose election I shall leave power. I have got my job at home, I am a cattle keeper.

“I am not power-hungry, but mission-hungry — so I have got a mission of economic transformation of Ugandans.”

Museveni who was involved in rebellions that toppled Ugandan leaders Idi Amin and Milton Obote has been the country's president since January 29, 1986.
