A date has been fixed for students to return to school by the Anambra state government.

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano has given his approval for schools to be gradually reopened in the state.
Recall that schools in the state months were forced to close as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Obiano gave the approval in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic Education, Mr. Nwankwo Nwabueze.
Nwabueze said the state government had approved and released a timetable for the completion of the 2019/2020 Academic session, as well as the schedule for the State examinations.
He said, “The 3rd term is quite short and we expect schools to make maximum use of the time. We had continued to teach our children at home through various e-platforms including the Anambra State Teaching on Air.
“These various platforms shall be continued as we do a phased re-opening of schools and watch the health implications. We enjoin parents to provide hand sanitizers and face masks for children. Let’s work together for the safety of all.”
The timetable for the completion of 2019/2020 Academic showed that while NABTEB begins on Monday 21st September to Thursday 15th October 2020, NECO SSCE begins on Monday 5th October to Saturday 14th November 2020 6.
The timetable further showed that resumption for JSS 3 Students begins on Monday 7th September 2020, while BECE takes off on Thursday 17th September and runs until Thursday 24th September 2020.
“Primary School Leaving Certificate Exam begins Saturday 12th September 2020, while the third term for 2019/2020 session begins Monday 14th September 2020 – Friday 23rd October 2020 for both primary and secondary schools,” the release stated.
