UNICAL Students Nab Suspected Phone Thief (Photo)

 

A thief has been nabbed by University of Calabar, UNICAL students.

 

The thief identified as Israel Mark Samuel was allegedly caught by residents of Hall 4 Hostel alongside the students security outfit, Man O' War on Tuesday, June 1.

 

He is said to have stolen phones from victims.

 

The suspect said he is a native of Nsit-Ubium local government in Akwa- Ibom state but resides at No. 53, Mount Zion street, Calabar.

 

According to police, Israel, who confessed to the crime said he is neither a student nor a business operator on campus but specialised in going into student's rooms to steal phone and other valuables.

 

After interrogation by the Man O' War, the suspect was appropriately handed over to the University's security for further investigation. 

 

Meanwhile,the Students' Union Government President, Sen. Ugah James Ugah has urged students to be vigilant while assuring them of maximum security throughout the Students Union Week.
