Ademola Adio, a young boy who is just 12 years old, has been arrested, according to a P.M. Express report.

The boy was arrested alongside his accomplice, Hammed Lukman, 20, while they were shooting sporadically with a cut-to-size pistol causing terror in Mushin area of Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Akala Base in Idioro area of Mushin, Lagos, where they operate as bandits terrorizing the residents.

However, while they were shooting Police operatives stormed the place, dislodged them and then arrested Adio and Lukman  with the locally made single barrel pistols and expanded cartridges while other members of the gang escaped and now at large.

The suspects were said to be part of the gang that had been terrorizing Mushin area and its environs for a long time and had always escaped arrest until this recent arrest.

The two suspects were subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy to wit illegal possession of firearms and displaying of arms in public to cause terror to the people in the area.

When they were arraigned, the Court did not take their plea but ordered their remand in Correctional Centre; juvenile home for Adio and Kirikiri centre for Lukman without an option of bail.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, referred the matter to the DPP for advice considering that the alleged offence committed was a capital offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.

The Court also ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the matter was adjourned till 5th November, 2021, for the report of the DPP to be available.

The suspects may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds them culpable and recommends their trial for the alleged despite the fact that one of the suspects, Adio, is a minor.
