The Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command, on Sunday, confirmed the abduction of one Olujala Adegboja at Olla town in Isin Local Government Area of the state.
Adegboja has a farm around the area where he was ambushed in a van on his way home from the farm at about 7pm.
Spokesman of the Police Command, Okasanmi Ajayi, said on Sunday that the anti-kidnapping and other tactical teams in conjunction with local hunters and vigilantes have launched a search and rescue mission for the victim as directed by the state police commissioner.
DAILY POST reports that unknown gunmen stormed the Olla community shooting sporadically and ambushed the victim, said to be a brother of the monarch in the town.
The kidnappers demanded N200m ransom for the release of the victim but later reduced it to N10m.
The victim is also a brother of a PDP chieftain Hon. Onijala, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He reportedly sustained serious injuries from machete cuts, was overpowered and whisked away to an unknown destination.
The kidnap operation, sources said lasted for about one hour in which sporadic gunshots were heard by the people of the community.
